Project goal:

Create a VR training application for a complicated Filter cleaning procedure.

My responsibilities:

Project lead for Environment and asset creation, asset optimization, lighting and shader work.

Challenges:

Project had very short time line - 6 weeks.

  • Project needs to be optimized for Meta Quest 2 headset.

  • Create a realistic and dense environment.

Project overview:

This was a challenging project, as we had only a few weeks to create a dense and realistic environment. Optimizing the project was crucial, as it had to run smoothly on the Quest 2 headset.

To achieve this, I employed the technique of modular asset creation for the environment and trim sheets with vertex painting for blending materials. This approach effectively minimized draw calls, ensuring optimal performance. Ultimately, the project was a success, as we managed to create visually appealing environments while meeting the performance targets.
