Virtual spine surgery
Tool development and optimization | Art direction | Prototyping | Materials and shaders
About the project: “Endoscopic lumbar spine surgery training”
Project goal:
Create endoscopic lumbar spine surgery simulator. Develop new features.
My responsibilities:
As a technical artist, I was actively involved in several key areas of development. My responsibilities included creating new features that enhanced the overall functionality of our projects. I dedicated a significant amount of time to designing and producing high-quality 3D assets, ensuring they met the artistic and technical standards required. Additionally, I worked on developing shaders and materials to achieve the desired visual effects in our projects.
Beyond these tasks, I also concentrated on implementing soft body interactions, which added a layer of realism to our simulations. Furthermore, I was committed to optimizing the project, improving performance, and ensuring a smooth user experience.
Challenges:
Working in the medical field requires everything to be as precise and realistic as possible. Creating believable and realistic organic materials and object interactions.
Project overview:
The Simulatory is a company that develops medical training simulators for endoscopic lumbar spine surgery and other procedures. I collaborated with the team to create the VR Spine application.
